Your instructor

I’m Emily Elizabeth Baker, author and educator. I have a Master's in Education, specializing in curriculum design and differentiation for different learning styles. I spent 10 years as a classroom teacher and have 15 years of professional journalism experience, writing for both print and online publications. Most recently, my debut novel, The Last Empress, was published. Though I was offered a publishing deal, I decided to publish independently, and so I will walk you through both options in the course.

You can also find my work on Substack under The Writer on the Water or follow my podcast Odyssey of a Novel to hear the advice of other amazing independent authors..
